Services

Fix the bits of your business that should work better.

I build websites, automations and useful digital tools for small businesses. If something is wasting time, causing hassle or being done manually, I can help you find a practical way to improve it.

Small businesses don’t usually need more technology. They need things to work better.

Tell me what you want to improve
Illustration: the little jobs of a small business piled up, such as a customer asking whether you are open on Sunday, a booking request, a website order, a quote to write, opening hours to update, an invoice, an overdue follow-up and a note to call a customer back. As the page scrolls they separate into tidy groups: customers, website and shop, and admin.

Websites

A website that does the job properly

Whether you need something new or your current site is outdated, confusing or simply not doing enough, I can build or improve it around what your customers actually need.

Useful for

  • New businesses
  • Old or neglected websites
  • Service businesses
  • Accommodation
  • Trades
  • Local businesses
  • Businesses relying too heavily on Facebook, Booking.com or similar platforms

What I can help with

  • New websites
  • Online shops
  • Website rebuilds
  • Landing pages
  • Enquiry forms
  • Booking journeys
  • Mobile improvements
  • Contact flows
  • Website fixes

WhatsApp & customer communication

Turn WhatsApp chats into bookings.

Let customers ask about an appointment, choose an available time and get their booking confirmed without the usual back-and-forth.

If customers already contact you through WhatsApp, I can help make that process more useful. The exact setup depends on the way your business already works and the tools you use.

Examples

  • Appointment requests
  • Available times sent automatically
  • Booking confirmations
  • Reminders before a visit
  • Rescheduling and cancellations
  • Enquiry handling
  • Follow-up messages
  • Collecting details before a visit
Illustration: a WhatsApp conversation with Willow Hair Studio. A customer asks whether there is anything available for a cut and blow dry this week. The salon replies with the next available appointments on Thursday 15 May: 10:30 AM, 2:15 PM and 5:45 PM. The customer taps 5:45 PM and the appointment is confirmed. The salon is an invented example.

Automation

Stop repeating the same jobs

If someone in the business is copying information, sending the same message repeatedly, updating multiple systems or relying on memory, there may be a simple way to automate it.

Examples

  • Confirmation emails
  • Reminders
  • Customer updates
  • Form submissions
  • Spreadsheet updates
  • Internal notifications
  • Follow-up tasks
  • Data moving between tools

Not every automation needs to be complicated. Sometimes saving five minutes on something you do every day is enough to make it worthwhile.

Illustration: one form submission triggers a confirmation email, a spreadsheet update, a notification and a follow-up task, alongside the point that five minutes a day is around 20 hours a year.

Simple business tools

Sometimes a spreadsheet is exactly what you need.

Not every problem needs new software. I can build clear, reliable spreadsheets that save time and make information easier to manage. And when you’ve genuinely outgrown one, I can help with the next step too.

  • Reporting dashboards

Turn raw figures into something you can actually use.

  • Trackers and working tools

Orders, stock, jobs, customers, schedules or whatever the business needs.

  • Smarter spreadsheets

Sensible formulas and checks that do the repetitive work and catch mistakes before they cause problems.

  • Fixing an existing spreadsheet

Clean up something that’s become slow, confusing, repetitive or error-prone.

And when a spreadsheet has been outgrown

  • Document control systems
  • Job logs
  • Customer portals
  • Simple databases
  • Stock tools
  • Admin apps
Illustration: a garden supplies shop’s order spreadsheet, listing each order’s date, customer, item, quantity, payment status and total, with paid, due and overdue orders coloured. Beside it, a summary sheet shows this week’s orders, takings, money still owed and takings by day.

Documents & processes

Make the admin side easier to manage

Forms, documents and processes often grow messy over time. I can help tidy them up and make them easier to use.

Examples

  • Online forms
  • Document templates
  • Digital records
  • Controlled documents
  • Spreadsheet systems
  • Approvals
  • Data capture
  • Process improvements
Illustration: a tidy online vehicle check form with completed fields and a signature, saved as a record and sent for approval.

Design

Useful design without hiring an agency

If you need something customer-facing, I can create it as part of a wider job or as a standalone piece of work.

Examples

  • Posters
  • Flyers
  • Social graphics
  • Adverts
  • Signage
  • Digital displays
  • Customer documents
  • Simple brand assets
Three example posters: an autumn supper club at a café, an electrician offering free quotes, and a homeware shop’s weekend sale. The businesses are invented examples.

Automation example

One problem. A few connected fixes.

Here’s a simple example. A guest books a holiday apartment. Instead of the host chasing arrival details, checking flights and sending check-in instructions by hand, I can connect those jobs so they happen automatically.

  1. Booking

    Guest books

The guest books through the website and gives their arrival details and flight number.

  2. Host

    Host gets the details

The booking and arrival details go straight to the host. No copying between messages or spreadsheets.

  3. Flight lands

    We automate the arrival

If a flight number was given, the flight is watched. When it lands, the next step happens automatically.

  4. Message sent

    Guest gets their check-in information

An automatic WhatsApp message sends the key code, directions and check-in details.

The result

The guest gets what they need at the right time, and the host doesn’t have to keep checking flights and sending the same messages manually.

This is one example.

The exact setup depends on your business and the tools you already use. WhatsApp suits this one, but email or text messages work just as well.

Tell me what’s taking too long, what keeps going wrong or what you wish worked better.

I’ll work out the simplest practical way to improve it.
